“The only purpose to tag an animal is if you can
get something out of it that will give you information to help the animal
or to help the entire population.”
- Larry Van
Daele, Wildlife Biologist
We follow the research team on an exciting adventure to
catch and tag Kodiak’s giant bear and the beautiful elk. Information
from this unique project will give researchers further knowledge of our
relationship with these beautiful animals.
This research project is a cooperative effort between
the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge,
and the Afognak Native Corporation.
