Staring The Francisco Family, 25 minutes
Every Summer for the past 25 years the Francisco family has left their
home in Kodiak, Alaska and flown out to their fish camp at Uyak bay to
spend four months gillnetting for salmon. The Salmon Industry is the major
industry on Kodiak Island and the Francisco’s fish for one of the local
canneries. They share with us, in their own words, what life is like in
this remote area of the world, separated from friends, school, stores and
doctors. Living in unity with nature and contending with wildlife such as
the great Kodiak bear. Long, hard days of fishing are followed by cozy
evenings in the cabin fellowshipping with family. Join Leon and Judy,
their children and grandchildren in what Leon calls “the real world”.
